Coffee Table Books for wedding albums

Brides are flipping over these!

This is from Casey and Megan's heart-and-soul wedding at his parents' house on the river in Hailey. It was so much fun to photograph and put this book together for them. They loved it!
Those other 'auto-fill' template albums can be pretty cheesy, so I started designing these coffee table books how I would want my own wedding album to look. Clean, contemporary and fun. I lay out each page by hand, and think and work with the emotional flow, and I love playing around with the images - placing pictures that you wouldn't normally think of together (but surprisingly, they work), and bouncing color off black & white.

If you went to Casey and Megan's wedding, you can click below to see the official Blurb release and to buy the book. Brought to you by Sun Valley wedding photography by Thia Konig

Portrait Series for High Altitude Fitness

My buddy Noah Ramirez and I struck up a deal. He needed some cool profile pics of all the trainers at the gym for his new blog that he's working on for High Altitude Fitness, and apparently I was in the need of a personal trainer and personal chef. So I set up my studio and did fun photo booth style portraits, not only to show off some great fit bodies, but also to capture the many facets of their personalities. Noah is kicking my ass at the gym, and he's helping/teaching me to shop healthy and cook healthy, and most important - make some for later healthy. He's also a 'Take Home Chef", and can cater high-end parties, as well as shop for and come over and cook lasagna or whatever you want for arriving house guests - all in your own kitchen! Brilliant. We have more projects down the pike, and there is talk of putting a coffee table cook book together. I'll be one skinny buff chick by then, right Noah?

Thia wins 2 PDN awards!

Well, it's kind of hard to toot my own horn, but here it goes. Just before going to Ecuador I get a call from PDN (Photo District News - THE photo trade mag) that I was one of the winners for the travel and portrait division of their latest PIX Digital Imaging Contest, and got them some high res images just in time for press. Even though I shot all of them on medium format film, I still entered them in the digital contest, because I had to scan them anyway
Then I was floored to find out that I also had won an award in the ...... drumroll please.......... website devision?! Wow. I put my heart and soul building this one from a $400 template, so that felt great. I wanted a really clean design, and had fun pushing the envelope with combining pictures that were visually related, not necessarily content related. To view the website just click below.... to view the rest of the travel portrait series, go to my 'projects'......
