Thanksgiving at Chris & DJ's cabin

My favorite holiday of the year is Thanksgiving. What's not to love about hanging out with friends eating and drinking, and being grateful. We were lucky enough to be invited to Chris and DJ's cabin with a bunch of other lucky friends. We each brought something to share, and a lot of wine, and a lot of laughs.

Tiny little rustic cabin with a million dollar view of the Boulders.

Darrin, Mac, Chris, Cheryl, Matt, DJ, & JC, and Marty?(not pictured)

cute and rustic means it has no running water. This is my photography segue... wait for it.. wait for it... behold the famous outhouse. I'm so honored that my photography promo piece made the wall.....

Mac's pies waiting patiently. Oh, that's me waiting patiently.

any bit of snow can be made into a chin rest... dogs are family around here, too

appetizers and drinks on the front lawn

you can always add to the list!

I love guys in the kitchen. It takes a village.

They actually have a record player with some vintage vinyl. Taj Mahal, Cat Stevens, Grateful Dead (of course), Buddy Guy, old U2, Yes, Earth Wind & Fire, Robert Palmer, Coltrane, and some more etc.

Ah, triptathane high with a Mac's CRAZYPIE sugar rush chaser.
Stick a fork in all of us, we're done.
Thanks DJ and Chris! Oh we are so ever grateful!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it's all about hanging out with friends and being grateful. It's also a good reminder to stop looking at the things that we don't have, and take stock and be happy with what we do have. By the way, have you seen the movie, The Secret?

I spent this past Thanksgiving at my friends Rob and ML's house. I've known them for a long time, and Rob is a fellow photographer so it's nice to talk shop with someone in town. Rob spent all day cooking and drinking, and ML made hats for us to choose whether we were a Pilgrim or an Indian. I was a pilgrim and I'm not sure if they drank Cosmopolitans back then, but we certainly did. Oh and we had prime rib, too, and home made apple pie.
