Chicago - eerily beautifull at night during a storm

400 flights cancelled today and I made it in! Here in Chicago to shoot Jen & Tony's wedding at the Drake Hotel. They've known each other since kindergarden.
Some great, big, colorful families will give me lots of material, I'm sure. Today, Art Institute and the rehearsal at the Italian American Sports Hall of Fame.

More winter portraits

I shot Frank & Jill's wedding almost two years ago, and it's so great to see their family grow. Introducing one of the cutest little guys ever - Dominic. This is one blessed little baby, as he is surrounded by LOTS of love.

then I came inside to see how many candid portraits I could get.....

little Dom is beyond cute!
Frank & Jill - so great to see both of you and your family grow! You're good people. See you in Arizona in June for Julie's wedding!........

Portrait image used for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care websie

I finally sold an image through my stock agency - stockshop.com!
Lucky! Lucky! Lucky! is what they say in Thailand while waving money at the table for the first sale of the morning. I have over 1,000 images with them, so I'm hoping for the best.....

Everyone home for the holidays

Lisa saw me out Adams Gulch when I was taking pictures of Todd and 'his kids', and wanted some portraits of the family when everyone was back in town, including her daughter in law's brother visiting from Brazil! I had a little degree of difficulty with a fussy baby and some dogs...

to get the little tyke in the mood!

Here's Lisa with her 'other kids'

although the house is really dark, with my new Nikon D700 it's no problem, and stayed to get some candids which I love. I think they are almost more telling to paint the picture/tell the story of a family....

as I was leaving I couldn't resist a portrait of the 'welcoming committee'

Winter Family Portraits

Christmas is the perfect time for portraits when kids are home from college and everyone is together. I shot Kerry Lee's senior portrait just last month, but we had so much fun Pam wanted to do it all over again when the whole family was in town. It was a stellar day, but it was BRIGHT. - and cold - we had to time our breaths!

Christmas Eve portraits with the Howard family

I love the Howard family. I shot Anne & Morgan's wedding this August, and now the whole clan is together for Christmas and Bill's 60th birthday. No one would even know this moment is between meltdowns - thanks to my trusty bunny ears and whistle - and some Red Bull.
It was a little cold for the kiddos, so we came inside to see how many more candid portraits we could get....

It was great to see Sarah and Bob's family grow - I shot their wedding back in the day of film.

Yes, dogs are family, too

a lovely moment between cousins
